Mango and money

As you might know, Egypt is a country with many poor people in it.

This morning I was walking with my mum and brother Nazar to buy some ice cream from an ice cream shop named ZAM ZAM. “They make the best ice cream ever” (quote from my bro Nazar). It is named after Zam Zam, which is an underground well in heaven.

But right after we bought the ice cream we all saw a very poor lady with a baby that only looked about six weeks old or less. I felt greedy holding my ice cream. I just had to do something, so I asked mama if I could give the lady some money. So my mum gave me 10 pounds to give her.

Just as I was walking over to give her the money, Nazar said, “I want to give her something too” so we went in to a nearby shop and bought a 1 litre bottle of mango juice. And then we all walked over to the lady and her baby and we gave her the money and the juice. The lady said, “God look after you” but in Arabic. After that I felt so happy and good in my heart.

THANK YOU for reading my STORY. And for the poor people, GOD BLESS THEIR HEARTS!!!

  1. Ziad, you have a good heart and so does Nazar. You made a difference in that mama and her baby's life and that is a beautiful thing. Ask your Mama if that was the same ice cream shop we went to when I visited in Cairo. If so, get some mastic flavored ice cream for me. It was my favorite and I can't get it in the United States!
